The World of Hastang

It’s been a long time since we posted anything here in our blog and in our mailing list. But we want to let you know that Hastang is still very much active (although admittedly busy with other things these days).

Yes, mga bai, our plans for releasing the debut album are still a go. Yeah, yeah, you’ve heard that one before. We’ve been promising to release the album for nearly two years now. But this time, we’re way past dilly-dallying. This time, we really are releasing the debut album. Please take my word for it (and yes, you may quote me on that).

For those of you who have yet to see us perform live, thank you for supporting our online promotions strategies. We hope that you continue to support us. We really need your help to spread the word.

To our friends in Manila: We regret to say that we can’t keep flying to Manila to do single gigs for very obvious financial reasons, but if we can round up a series of gigs for an entire week (or an entire weekend, for that matter), we would be willing to scrape for the plane fares. So, please, if you know any event organizers in Manila, please do put in a good word for us.

For the past couple of years, we’ve only released 4 of our songs online - Random, Oblivion, When Misery Speaks, and Mid-flight. The rest of our songs, we occasionally play live. But we fear that we did our non-Cebu-based audience a great disservice by not publishing the rest of our tracks. Our apologies.

So now, we have decided to release sneak previews of all of Hastang’s songs. That’s right. All 11 tracks in the debut album. Please check out the imeem player in our sidebar and listen to samplers of our tracks.

We’re eager to get your feedback, so please do leave some comments.
